I have been in contact with a british vets' son and this is what pics he has sent me . The vets' son, Peter, would like to know more about this set and more provenance on the piece is just coming. Could somone please tell me what Badge this is, what signatures there are? etc etc. I can send a higher res pic for those interested. There's an E-beer in it for ya! Cheers.

Signatures
Top signature is that of Generaladmiral Hans-Georg von Friedeberg (see http://geocities.com/~orion47/WEHRMA...ANS-GEORG.html for a biography, and for further information and photos, http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtop...hlight=oxenius
Next is General der Infanterie Eberhard Kinzel (see bio at http://geocities.com/~orion47/WEHRMA..._EBERHARD.html)
Can't decipher the next in line, but I think it's a Konteradmiral- bios of those may be found at http://geocities.com/~orion47/WEHRMA...eradmiral.html
Don't know about the bottom signature- can only tell you his first name started with a "J" and he was a Major i. G. (im Generalstab).
Best wishes,
~ Mike Miller

Hi Tom;
I think the third signature is that of a Konteradmiral Wagner, staff officer to General-Admiral Friedeburg.
The fourth signature in line appears to be a Major Friedel, staff officer to General Kinzel.
Sorry I can't give you first names for these two officers, but I hope this at least helps.

Thanks guys
This is a great help. Now I know the badge is a US army tank destroyers. The paperwork behind it seems very interesting . I have sent Peter an email asking for more of the paperwork to be shown. Although, I don't why it says, I think, "German officers to may? hq by field marshal Keitel to dicuss surrender"? I hope all will be revealed soon and I will post the extra pics when I get them.
Thanks for the help everybody, and bid thanks to Michael Miller
Cheers.

Hi Tom;
The writing on your document appears to be that of Field Marshal Montgomery and I believe reads as
"German officers to my HQ by Field Marshal Keitel to discuss surrender."
The actual Instrument of Surrender of "All German Armed Forces in Holland, in northwest Germany and all islands and in Denmark" was signed the next day (May 4, 1945) at 1830 hours at Montgomery's HQ.
Regards,
Don
