    Tank Museum thread

Thought I'd post a link over to my thread on the AAF museum in Danville, VA. Nice collection of armor. All indoors and pretty well cared for. Only one German tank though. Nice to see they had a lot of the units running.

      Dag,

I don't know. Didn't see anything about it. Was it a thread here on the forum?

        Jack,

It wasn't here. I seem to have lost the link somehow. I will trawl around and see if I can find it. A friend invited me but I couldn't make.

          Original date changed

The museum had an open house scheduled for one of the weekends in September, but rainfall in the area from one of the hurricanes put the kibosh on the original date. I believe it was rescheduled and has already been held.

I've visited their site before, but not the museum. Hopefully I will sometime soon. It is a day trip for me, a very long one, but still a day trip.

            Dennis,

Thanks for the confirmation. I could not honour the inviation as I was tied up with work. Seems as if did not miss anything due to the weather. Unfortunately, whilst I could probably do it in a day (choosing flights carefully) I would probably need a week off upon return
Maybe it works out next year.

            Thanks again,

            Dag

There are a number of photos from this museum's most recent open house posted at the AFV News website/forum.

              Regards,
              Dennis
