panzer scope? value?

I was told this came off a panzer in North Africa.

any idea if it came off a tank, or is it some other field optics?

the guy wants $500 bucks plus shipping for it..

it has nothing to do with Afrikakorps...its just painted standard sandyellow as of 1943...typical seller's talk

This kind of optic was fitted on several selfpropelled vehicles with 75 mm or 88mm gun in antitank role.
StuG III, StuG IV, Nashorn, Jagdpanther, Jagdpanzer IV, SdKfz 251/9, SdKfz 233, SdKfz 234/3 (these had the former short barreled L24 PZ IV gun),
Possibly the jagdtiger had this optic too.

500$ is too expensive in my opinion ( its not complete : it lacks the headrest and rubber eye protector)
