Originally posted by Simon L View PostYet again I am off its just pointless, this forum remains the same, for those without an agenda I am very happy to converse offline.
At the end of the day when all opinions are said and maybe even proof shown, it is still your wraps and what you feel about them.
I like the generals one , thats a beaut.

I will respond here as well as in the other thread to Simon's remarks.
First of all, I made no comment myself so far, on the insignia posted in the other thread, as I wanted to see what other collectors thought. However, I do think it is all bad. The cuff titles are made in France and I have heard this type referred to as "Caravelles" possibly after the name of the faker. Gary Wood can fill in the blanks on this type better than I can, if he is willing.
As for the "AGENDA", which infers I have a "nasty destructive agenda", my only thought here is to learn and help other collectors. I quoted PANZERPIONIERE who wanted to see some close ups of the wrappers. I posted the insignia here as it is likely to get more views than in the Panzer forum and I did post links to both threads so everyone can see both threads. I don't have close up photos of any more of your wraps Simon, including the Hohenstaufen wrap. Post them if you would like comments.
Simon, I fail to see how anything or anyone is stopping you from having defended these items........or from doing that now.
As for the sleeve eagle on the Panzer wrap I own.
1. The eagle is sewn on in the same manner as the cuff title - not one stitch is visible on the inside of the unlined sleeve even at 20x magnification. To not have even one stitch show on the inside of the sleeve indicates to me they were applied by a very skilled tailor or seamstress. There are no "extra" stitch holes anywhere to be seen to indicate a previous eagle or cuff title were applied.
2. That particular sleeve has five small holes that have been mended by someone not skilled at sewing. Some of these are close to the eagle. The eagle and the cuff title both show considerable wear and some damage.
3. If anyone can tell the eagle (or cuff title) are reapplied then good luck to you. You must have super X-ray vision.......
However, I have seen one of Simon's wraps that I liked what I saw from the photos, and that was the Nordland Stug officer wrap. It was sold a while back on Relics of the Reich.

Removed images.
I am afraid I have removed my images on advice of other collectors nice to see you today chaps. I am afraid there is an agenda as Tony directed the thread to one I was unaware of and had nothing to do with my Hohenstaufen wrapper, that is my opinion based on previous experience. Also who gave that individual permission to post those photos on another thread without my knowledge is an interesting debate, a word of advice don't.
For all collectors that want to see a serious debate about arm eagles, one which is not lopsided go onto the daggers forum and search, you will find a very large debate on there about the subject although its quite a long time ago and you will see JPIC and I were on either side, so bringing in the other thread you can see some motivation; such a shame a real tunic got verbally abused, for the new owner well done.
Do I need to go back into that debate on another thread...no, I neither have the time or care and the motivation of some I have serious concerns about to the point that real things get slated, which is a crying shame.
As a point of note Panzer Pionere has the photos of the Hohenstaufen wrap also.
I started that thread years ago, someone else brought it back to life I just stumbled onto it by chance, and I freely admit I posted far too much in one go in my enthusiasm for a subject I love originally; more fool me, so I hope others appreciate that my intention was not to show off but I think its too late for that.
Its been good to make new acquaintances by being on here briefly; guys you have some serious collections I look forward to seeing more and sharing more out of the limelight.
I remain happy to help people in anyway I can which was my original intention of the post to share; with other people really interested in panzer, but not in the public domain. I just cannot be bothered sorry.

Since my name was brought up I will point out that the debates with Simon were one sided he never posted any period photos of the insignias in question he never offered anything except a tantrum and his willingness to quit the forums.
Anyone who likes these eagle insignias has a real fantasy about what survived the war. Im sorry he doesnt want to learn and have yet to see a dealer offer any of his tunics except one for sale, as he has promised so many they would see this.I suggest he send them to a world authority that wont be disputed for examination...perhaps Steve Wolfe or someone of that stature in the hobby.
