    Hi Lennard.

    You had any thoughts on how i might source this info without massive cost.

    No-one else has contributed, so i guess they have nothing positive to add;

    Cheers, SF.

      Hi SF,

      Cannot really help, other than suggest you cold-call by e-mail any archive you can think of, especially in Germany, there was one at Freiburg that a friend of mine used to get lots of documents and photos from when he went there for his halftrack research, and send lots that interested me (lEpkw data) but that was 20 plus years ago.

      Many of these places, like IWM, Bovington, ECPA have all got a lot less helpfull and more restricted over the years, I can remember being asked if I was a bona-fida author, if not, get lost. Photos used to be a few D'Marks from Freiburg and a few Francs from ECPA, last time I tried one particular archive, think it was ECPA, they were 30 Euro minimum and 100 Euro if was to be used in a publication. I had seem a photo in a book credited to ECPA, so contacted them to see if I could use it in a magazine article I was writing, 90 Euro I think they wanted, and pages and pages of a questionaire I had to complete, overall something like four months of time taken.

      The impression I got was, bascially not interested in sharing the information any more with the general public.

      Maybe I was just unlucky with whom I dealt with, you might have better luck.

      See that other thread on this forum, a PzIII dashboard with both the Turm Nr and Fg Nr stamped on it, "bnd" is MAN. typival data plate information.

      Send me a PM, if indeed you are in Dorset, then I am only in Hampshire, and that chart of numbers in Panzerbasics is largely compiled by me with Robs help

      cheers lennard
