    Panzer fire extinguisher??

I was having a look at a post about panzer fire extinguishers in another web and one of them was the one in the pic . I always thought that panzer models had two handles...is this model also panzer?

I have one of these in my collection, allways thought it was one that was mounted on the back firewall of the Panzers.

Seems there are two different kinds of fire extinguishers: two handle-ordnance colour for the outside and one handle-red for the inside of the panzers...

        Panzer or Luftwaffe

        Well,

I was going through some fire extinguisher pics, studying them, as I got one recently( http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...329122&page=38). Mine doesn't have any decal and I would like to get a one with a nice set of them. Now, after showing some pics to a friend, he told me that those with the following decal are Luftwaffe not Panzer, as I thought. Can any of you help with them. I know FL. Nr. stands for Luftwaffe items (see link) but I've seen this kind of fire extinguishers as Panzer, all around (the internet).

            Hello gnadenlose,

Yes, that is the model I mean, but the question is: Are they Luftwaffe? Panzer? or either of them? Did you find it near some tank parts or something related to tanks?. If you have seen the link I posted above, you get a pic of an extinguisher on a panzer, with a very similar decal. Does any member have similar pics that show extinguishers with such a decal?

Well, it wasn't dug up by myself, but as far as know it was found together with some Stug parts.

This is my find, and yes it most probably belonged to Stug III. In this willage were left at least 3 stugs. Locals tell about six or seven, but on 50-s 3 from them where still there. Storys tell that last shassi ended in scrap metal on end of 80s or early 90s.

What are the mesures of your's? Mine (without decals) is about 33-34cm high (bottle only) and 11 cm diameter. It's a very light grey-green.

Let's see if we can clarify something with the help of other members

Does any one know if panzers carried more than one extinguisher?

Aren't they simply vehicle fire extinguishers rather than specifically panzer?

Carles is aware that various army vehicles and Luftwaffe planes used this as common safety equipment. The point is whether the decals shown here, which carry the Luftwaffe spec numbers of the extinguisher were affixed on deliveries to all services or only for Luftwaffe orders? In other words, he would like one for an army vehicle, but does the labeling tie it rather to Luftwaffe use?

But Carles, if the question does not get settled, you still have the option of making believe it is a HG tank.

                              Thanks Nick,

Yes, my question is: Are the extinguishers that show the Fl. Nr correct (not exclusive) for panzers, or are they Luftwaffe use only?. Taking advantage of the thread I am also trying to make a study of possible different makings.

Nick, I had also taken into account the HG possibility.
