    Hi Skarek,
there were quite a few wrecks of german armour in normandy post 1945 most of which fell foul to the blowtorch of the scrap metal hunters, as did quite a few gun mantels etc used in coastal defences in the channel islands.

It was a T-34 as well. Just a better mock up job.

        Cheers

Is it just i who think it is comical in this post see all "there was a running tiger in the moxie ........" and then the next port "No it was a T-34"...(nothing against any of you).

Seems like the mockup people does quite a nice job anyway. The majority of people (even many in this forum) get fooled. Just us Tiger nerds that gets irritated on the ugly and "bad made" mockups.

@Lloyd I know what people say but I also know the guys who ride in/on that thing and, believe me, it is one of the two Tigers built for SPR and used in BoB as well.

Having dealt with a few I really don't expect movie researchers to know the difference between an MS1 and a T90!

Thatr site doesn't say what the Tiger was made from and, curiously the only other tank on there is...a T55!

This is very very interesting. As far as I know, there are only 6 Tigers remaining today.
                    -Bovington
                    -Vimoutiers
                    -Snegiri
                    -Saumur
                    -kubinka
                    -Aberdeen

Bovington is the restored 131, Vimoutiers and Snegiri are wrecks. Saumur is on loan in Munster and is in bad shape, Kubinka is as far as I know not in running order and Aberdeen is somewhere in Germany and is cut oen in the right side.

Does anyone know more about the Tiger in the "Kevin Wheatcroft" collection????

                    Regards Jules

What the heck is that? Looks like a US M37 Self-Propelled Howitizer with some add-ons. Here is a side by side.

What about the recent show on either the Military channelor the much "loved" History channel. It was either D-day to Berlin or D-Day reflections.

They had 3 PzIIIL's with some oddball muzzle brakes installed Who knows where these 3 pzIII's came from?
