This snot is from the Time-Life website (note the watermark) and these shots are well known - There is also a well known film clip of where Hitler and Eva's bodies were burned that also shows SS marked gascans - pretty elaborate "hoax" I would think just to authenticate a marking on a gascan, but I guess there's always sceptics in everything

In the late 1990s, I picked up one at a carboot sale in Normandy, when I asked the price it was the equivalent to £3, when I went to pay the chap selling it, he noticed it had a hole in the bottom, he then tried to make me have the other one he had which was a wartime British one, I had a hard time convincing him I wanted the one with the hole !
About 5 years ago I bought my second SS can, again at a Normandy carboot sale, I have attached a picture of this one below, it also was cheap (I think 4/5 euros), so these cans also made it to the Western front as well.
        Regards Gary

Im not sure if you are refering to my comment, im just asking if others have seen other pictures of them in use, as I cant recall any. I am not insinuating that this photo is a "hoax", im just asking if anyone else has seen additional photos and its a topic of discussion, not accusing anyone of doctoring up anything? Roger?

Hello. What might be the value of such a SS canister in good condition?

            Regards

Hey Jack. It seems to be a good one. It is not easy to judge the ones which are thick overpainted... Make some better shots of the welding at the holders... Also one picture of the inside... Regards
