Good spotting Eric! I was about to add (...or from some similar modification to mountain troops etc) to my posting, but passed, as I didn't remember 10,5 cm GebH 40 at all.

BTW, I've been to that museum few times in past years and will be back there (and Kubinka) in just two weeks.

I think that the 10,5 cm GebH 40 are not original but taken from another vehicle. Many of the exhibits at this museum are not completely original. The wheels appear to be from a Russian
AT-L artillery light tractor. There is one on display at the Laturn tank museum

Nope. AT-L wheels are clearly much smaller and rims have just 7 spokes.

Like I said, Buckeru's wheels are clearly from a towed artillery piece, as they have hand (line) operated break drums.

You are correct I did not count the number of spokes. But the shape did not look like a German wheel so I found a Russian wheel which did. Looking closer at the artillery piece the muzzle brake and maybe the barrel do not look original either. Perhaps the piece was rebuilt after the war.

Remember that this gun is a highly specialized piece for mountain warfare with many innovations and special solutions, and not a standard German field artillery piece.

Muzzle break might be either late-war or post-war, but I assume the former, as this piece is in Russia and they have plenty of original 10,5 cm leFH 18s to display. Remember that they do not display this piece as 10,5 cm GebH 40.

Anyway, barrel and wheels look original to standard production 10,5 cm GebH 40. I'll check the barrel markings when I go there in next week.

In 10,5 cm GebH wheels have hand operated brake drums, are attached directly to the split carriage and are made of cast light alloy with detachable rims and solid rubber tires - all characters found from those wheels shown by Buckeru.
