    German Identification Model SU 100

    Hi,
I picked up a wooden model of a SU-100. Its all wood with hard rubber tracks. Size is about 12 inches by 5 inches. On the bottom of the assault gun is the following

    Holz-Mechantk-GMBH
    6910-43019
    SU-100 12-123-4929

Below this there is an Eagle with outstretched wings with a number 95 in the middle. No swastikas.

My question is whether there is any chance this is wartime or is it postwar?

I would show some scans but unfortunately I am still having trouble getting the pix small enough to be accepted for download. However I can send scans to anyone interested who provides an email address. Thanks.

    Hi Eric,
how are you? These particular models are postwar. It would seem a few have recently come on the market and I bought a T34 a few weeks ago exactly the same. I also have three of the wartime models (stug, Panther and a Mk IV)...so I can compare them. Thew wartime models are actually hollow inside... behind the track area and underneath......although this is sometimes covered by a carboard label plate on the wartime ones. The modern one like you and I have are solid timber.

Hope that helps! Cheers, Wade K.
