How to track?

I want to know which unit my Bmw R 75 sidecar was delivered too. Is it possible to track the bike? I only know that it came from Norway too Sweden 1957

Sonny, Im certain you would be able to find this information out. Most of the surviving examples of vehicles I have seen either in person or in musuems have been researched down to unit. This includes soft skinned vehicles such as motorcycles, Kubels-Schwimmers, and transport trucks.

My advice would be to contact the director or technical staff at a military musuem such as Patton Musuem of Cavalry and Armor for assistance. They will be able to guide you in the right direction to begin research. They wont do it for you and in some cases you will be out luck. It's always a long shot because of the damage to records by bombing or deliberate action, the sectoring up of Germany means some records are in the Russian Republic, England, America, Germany, and even France.
