    Battle of the Bulge Relics

    Hi People,

There is a little place I have been keeping an eye for a while now.

You see it contians some interesting artifacts. The owner has now decided to sell off two of them as he is converting his barn.

First is a shot of two 75mm barrels. I suspect that they are from either Panzer IV or Stug III. unfortunatley when they were acquired in the 40's they had been modified to be used as props in a barn. So the muzzle brakes have been cut to fit an RSJ.

    Here is the other one.

The other two are still in use.

    And

The first two are for sale. If anyone is interested I can make an offer. How much would anyone be willing to pay?

Near are some more interesting relics that are not for sale!

120mm Mortars up-turned to use as fence posts.

    and

And two very interesting pieces that I am confident that I have identified, so how about you?

And a view of the other one.

    Best

                  David,

Great photos! Amazing that this stuff is still there. Is the 75mm gun tube drain pipe still in the ground?

                  Best,

                    Hi Zundappuk,

I bought a nice relic"Sherman track centre guide" from an English gentleman a few years back which reputedly came from the Ardennes.

Thought it may of been you.

                    regards KK

Those are some well-known 75mm barrels - I remember seeing pics of at least one in After the Battle! Are the other barrels from a Pak 50 L/30 or IG 37?

                            Hi

I knew the initial owner ( who died a few years ago) according to his story the barrels came from pak 40 that were ammassed in the nearby field by US troops. all sorts of guns actually...hence the 120 GRW and 75mm Infantery Geschütz.
in the 80' he had two more complete pak 40 barrels liying in the garden.
4 gun tubes were used and altered to rebuild his burntout barn.

Dave, did you buy any of this stuff?....pity the muzzle brake has been decapitated

                            ciao

that's one way to reuse all the "junk" from the war. In 1945 it was worthless but today...different story. Him using them in his barn saved them from the scrap heap.
