Is this a joke?

Thats a postwar meeskit for fabric-workers, miners, etc. Immidiately after the war they were made of small tanks for "starter-gasoline" for Kübelwagen":

Nice conversion stuff ! For which purpose the gas mask filter was used ?? In this typical brown enamel I allready saw gasmask canisters converted to coffee cans and Pz-Faust parts changed into coffee pots but no filter casings.
