To Kettenkrad belonged especially SdAnh 1 trailer or trailer used by Luftwaffe. If infantry trailer If8 was used with KK, some improvisation must have been done in the field - because no original tow bar existed! Of cource towing of If8 trailer by KK was possible by improvisation, however it was not by no means widely spread.
The "modern" tow bar for KK and other vehicles , that we know now, is until post war design. In adition If8 infantry trailer was never originally designed for motorized transport - therefore the absence of elektric power connection, red tail light and fenders, othewise compulsory for motorized transport of trailers from at the time till nowdays. Therefore SdAnh 1 for KK was equiped by these compulsory items originally from the production.
Hallo.
At first view not so bad If8 cart, however has not suitbale wheels. Of course these wheels are original WWII or prewar, but WH If8 carts never used them - belonge right to german small cars (kleine deutsche PKW - DKW 600, Opel Laubrosch etc.).
Regards Jiri.

Hallo.
Sorry, but not. Neither these wheels (german cars, PKW) nor similar designed wheels with 5 holes (used by LW carts, but not originally by If8 Karren!!!) are original from If8 carts. The only 3 rd cart has the wheels of original design... Some of these spoken disks have strengthened hollow edge, that was designed for hevier loading - cars or much more robust cars only, not If8 carts.. I do not think If8 carts would have used strengthened hollow edge disks... The markings on the disk specifies exactly using. The right disks for If8 carts have own unique markings, sometimes with WaA markings (but not regulation!). The markings on theese all DIN 3x19 disks exatly define
target of using - smaller cars, LW carts, other german smaller carts or special trailers, If8 carts.
I believe that If8 carts did not used these disks originally from the production - of course, the middle hole and screw distance are absolutely the same, therefore they can be mixed each other without any problem during WWII and especially after the war... Yes, original picture could exist - of cource many field repairs or improvisation were done, the If8 cart could had been repaired before taking picture etc...
Unfortunately nowdays many people think theese all wheels are from If8 carts, however it is a mistake. What do you think, why would have Germas produced so many variations of wheels with different markings and "Einpresstiefe (ET)" for 1 Infanterie Karre If8...? Why would have they done it...???
By the way not so bad carts, I like them. Please accept my compliment.
Jiri
