Congrats Willem. Nice job!
This is what it looked like when it was still in the States.
A diamond in the rough, very complete, even had the NSU factory first aid kit
and an original ost front torch heater, but I believe that got misplaced and lost
when all the parts got transported to the auction house...
This kettenkrad came out of Colombia in the 1970's I was told...
The (Mid-West) owner passed away...and the family auctioned it off. (I was the high bidder)
The contracted auction house had no experience with military vehicles (they do antique furniture
but also guns and some militaria) and had estimated the value at between $1500 and $2500 USD
The past owner also had a Kubelwagen project... which he also never finished...(I was the 2nd highest bidder)
That vehicle went to the A.A.F. Tank Museum in Danville, VA and I have a hunch they ended up with the ost front torch heater
(auction lots got mixed up...I tried to get it back...)
Another "before" picture...while still in the States. I arranged the export to Holland.
Glad it found a good home with such a dedicated and knowledgeable owner!
