    This has to be the craziest example of a war prize. What were they thinking?

        This is in one of my German Army books, what they were tring to do was the Sd.Kfz. 253 would stay in low area such as burms with the car showing above as a observation post. The floorboard was cut out.

          Very interesting, I had not thought of that. I doubt the company commander would have approved a non-military purpose anyway. Makes me wonder how they got it up there. It probably didn't do too well coming off.

              My old neighbor was on Patton's staff and was in Germany untill 1947.
              He was Patton's liaison pilot. He commandeered a German ME108 as
              it was a much better plane than his issued CUB. He tried to have it
              sent home when he rotated back but was not allowed to let it leave
              Europe.

                    Nice idea ! Keeps the rain out but lets in a bit of light. If its too sunny you can always roll a window down.
