    Littlefield Panther alomost finished

The Panther that has been painstakingly restored by the team of Jacques Littlefield is almost finished. Yesterday, we tested the radio systems and the gyro-compass with the engine running, and radio communications were loud and clear. The gyro-compass (Kurskreisel) worked as well.

This was the ultimate test, because if the power from the generator is not filtered enough, and the leads are not shielded/grounded, there will be an unacceptable level of noise in both the transmission and reception of radio signals, not to mention communication between the crew members through the intercom box.

I am very happy these systems work as intended.

    Hi Yuri
That's cool if a great efford has been made to restore everything and if it finally works fine.
Where can I find a link to the restoration project?

It has a very nice Zimmerit finish, and is painted in tan-camouflage. I will post some photos of it tomorrow.

Yuri where in Cali is she? I'm from down in Oceanside and would love to see her. I caught the Tank Overhaul episode a few weeks ago and fell in Love.

is the turret already mounted on the hull?

The turret is not yet mounted. There are some minor details that need to be added inside the hull (such as round storage curtains) and the paint needs to be touched-up. The turret is ready to be lifted and set onto the hull. Once that's done, the hull will be electrically connected to the turret, and we are pretty much done.

                          Yuri,

2 of the vehicles currently being restored at Littlefield's are almost finished : the Panther and the Sherman Jumbo. Seems that these 2 vehicles will be finished in few weeks or months.

Do you know which vehicle(s) will be restored after these ones?

Jacques' desire is for us to work on the Panzer 1-a. Since that vehicle is in very good condition, it will be a nice change from the immense project that was the Panther.
