This isn't mine, but it's a friend's and he uses it for a doorstop. Came from a panther tank wreck in a farmer's field near Lake Balaton in Hungary.

Really nice... a 3.500 € doorstop! (last years auction result from france for such an item...)
Did he save more bits of the tank ?? As the event is probably 50 years ago he may have done so as there are more parts on a tank which could be civilized...

I'll ask him about other parts, I know he has had quite a bit of tank and stug ammunition of various types.

Here is my Stug III Pak 40 barrel and the steps of its restoration work. I already showed it in the past when I discovered it.

It is now in the middle of my collecting room and I am pretty satisfied with it and the work I did. The condition of the metal is very good and has just been cleaned with sanding process.

Allan, is that a section the armor side plate? Was the cammo re-done or original? Really neat!! Mike.

                        Mike

                        Hi Mike,

Yes, it's a schurzen side panel. Camo redone by me. You can see where a large round has gone in on the left side, hit the tank and come back through on the right side.

                        Cheers

                        Allan

Is that a frame which is under the driver or radiooperator seat from Panther tank??

                                Allan,

Nice mg34 AA mount, only the wrong collor..it should be more yellow. It`s really rare!! Maybe only a few thousands made at the end of the war..and only a few still known to excist. Most museums don`t have one on the Panther. Those cost in newer condition like $50k.

I also had one..a soilfind..allmost all parts worked after a good clean. Still some paint remains...very cool piece of history.

Still regret I sold it.. I could use the 10k.

                                Cheers Tommy
