    Bundesarchiv on Wikimedia

    While this may be old news to some I just learned today that the photos of the Bundesarchiv has now been posted on Wikimedia. You can view photos by selecting the year. WHAT A TREAT! Now you can see the full series of photos that have appeared as single shots in books. Many I have never seen before. Lots of good Panzer and uniform shots. ENJOY!

      Great link Michael!! I hadn't seen this before either, some really great pictures!! It didn't work the first time I clicked on it either, but it did work the second time.

                According to the site there is an agreement with the ba that the photos provided to the wikepedia commons project can be used freely and shared if you go to the site and look on the licensing link it explains it. I also posted the site in tne fj forum.

                    Wow!!

                    What a treasure trove of photos!! I'm still looking and saving, hope the hard drive holds up...LOL

                    On a serious note, some of the photos are particularly chilling, the photos of the Russian partisans being executed for one .

                      wow super. my father fought at the hochwhechsel battle getting his ek1. i have a poor news paper photo and writeup. also the name of the ss photogragher, he and his battle group all wear ss camo. the photo has gen. ringel in it giving the medals. also on the award docs. his signature. there was a lot of pics taking and i seek more . i was at this place this summer but they were too busy to help me. hopfuffy here. thanks this is a great forum and all users are also. merry christmas
