Did the Sdkfz251 ever tow the 88 Flak18\36?

I know the 251 was designed to tow but could it or did it tow an 88?

Anyone ever seen pictures of one doing so?

Sdkfz250 in North Africa

I think I've seen a Sdkfz250 towing an " Acht-Acht" in north Africa. Must find it.

Hi Simon, I have quite a few books on the "251" as it is my favourite German vehicle, but I cannot ever recall seeing one towing an "88".

I have a picture of a 251 towing a 10.5 cm leFH18, along with the caption [quote] As the war progressed these vehicles were unofficially used to haul bigger and heavier guns. Unfortunately I have no way of scanning it, sorry.

I also checked the weight of the le.FH18, the 8.8cm FLAK18, and the 8.8cm PAK43. The first had a battle weight of between 1800 and 2040 kg (depending on model), the second was 5000 to 8000 kg (again depending on which model),and the third was 4380 to 5000 kg. I would say that the 251 just couldn't physically pull that much weight.

Thanks for the replies guys. Steve, i've seen pictures of the 251 towing the Le.F.H.18 and Pak 40 too but as you say there's quite a weight difference between them and an '88'.
