Looking for Panzer & Tiger plans

First off, I'd like to say hello. This is my first posting here (and I'm sure I'll turn into a real pain in the @$$ at some point to some -- because of brain digging).

I have been looking around (here and there) for books with good detailed drawings of the Tiger and Panzer tanks. So far I haven't found anything.

I did see someone I know at a model show (he was with others) operating 1:16 battle tanks). He sugested I find a real tank and pull measurments from it and go from there. Well for starts, I amd not always that good at things like that (and with my luck, I'd forget a important measurement), so I have been looking for drawings / plans of them.

Does anyone know where I might find a complete set of plans that a person can build one from with great detail. I know I can get the masters (I'd make resin castings of everything because I know my Girlfriend and her two girls will want one too) as detailed as the drawings / plans show. I'd like to take a wack at building them in at least 1:8th scale.

    So Any help?

There is a German publisher with some interessting books for you. It is VDM. They have a short description of their website in English too.

The books are called 'Im Detail' (in detail). In there are scale drawings in 1:35, 1:17,5 and 1:10, but no measurements. You have to measure the drawings yourself and calculate your desired scale. I have seen one of German armoured trains and it seems to be quite helpful for a scale modeller (I am none myself, so please don't nail me down on that )

Her are some direct links (these again are only in German, sorry):
    Panther, Ausf. G
    Tiger, Ausf. B (Kingtiger)
    Bergepanther (Sdkfz. 179)

I am sure they send abroad too.

    Hope that helps
    Uwe

      Some plans here http://www.tigertank-h-e-181.com/tiger_plans.htm
Also a google search for 'tiger tank plans' brings in a lot of hits. There is also a site which I can't remember run by a guy bulding a large scale model, who is giving a blow by blow account of the project.
      Hope this helps,
      Jim

Late last night whiole I was online, i cam across this site http://www.cyber-innovations.co.uk/mark-1-tank/

I found their forum and in it someone esle was looking for plans and someone suggested a tank museum (the name or location of it wasn't disclosed) has some plans, try mailing planslist@tankmuseum.co.uk. (not sure about that "." after the uk, it might be just a period).

As soon as i post this, I'll look at that link you have Jim. When I was searching, I kept coming up with foreign sites showing captured or damaged tanks and in a lanuage I couldn't read (I have that kind of luck about things).

www.tankmuseum.co.uk (no period after uk) is the site of Bovington tank museum. At present they are restoring a Tiger to running condition, but are having a few engine troubles I believe.
