    My first job out of high school, I was working for a guy who was a
    tank crewman in a Sherman. Their tank was hit by a German 88.
    All survived but he told me the worst part was that they could hear
    the round coming and knew there was nothing they could do to get
    out of the way.

      i reckon i would know enough about both tanks! i can do a pros and cons things if you like!!
      if your in a Sherman theres not much you can do if your getting attacked by a panther or tiger at distances!!! unless your the 5th in line and manage to make up the ground before you all get wiped out!!

        I don't know (perhaps you can enlighten us)... but they sure took care of their fair share of Soviet armor on the eastern front, particularly during the second half of 1943. The Shermans in Italy were more of a challenge I guess.

            When I was in the Army we always used the term "FUBAR'ed" Which means F#@ked up beyond all recognition. Thanks for sharing the pictures
