    Sturmgeschutz Batterie 459.

    Hello all,

    I thought I would put this query on this forum, as this is the place for Panzer experts.
    Has anyone any information on the above unit?
    I know they served in Russia, as the person I am researching served in this unit after being transferred from a Panzer III to Stugs in 1942.
    Anyone can help? I have tried the usual searches and have discovered nothing about this unit, perhaps a scratch unit made up from elements of other formations?
    Any information would be gratefully appreciated.
