help............i picked this up out of an estate sale with a few other authenic german items.......i was told the vet may have been with the 5th div.......by knows means is this item fake.....is this some type of unitbadge .would like to know........thanks alot........

I would think the unique suspension system shown on the badge would be the give away as to what nationality it comes from...JMHO Billbert

this badge is not french, did they even have tanks could be unit insignia to a panzer division, similiar to what uboat crews did.

I think the French connection is correct.
