    BMW R12 Restoration

Here is my link to my BMW R12 restoration page. I am currently restoring 1 of my 2 R12 motorcycles. I have finally sourced all of the parts, except for any unexpected problems that could arise during rebuild. Please enjoy and check back often. I hope to have her ready with her original sidecar by the end of January. There are more pics of pre-restoration on my website. http://www.bmwr12.com/

I love it and a long-time dream of my own. If you know of any other R12's for sale, drop me a line...

I have restored several HD Panheads.

A lot of fun but lots of headaches.

Painters and shops never get things done anywhere near the time they promise.

Chasing and fitting of parts and variations of fittings can drive you nuts.

Presently working on a '65 Panhead sidecar rig.

Hacks are lots of fun to drive.

Those opposed BMW motors are great, I always wondered how they hold up to heavy use with sidecars.

                    Beautiful project!

BMW R12 is very robust. Although they got a lot of beating, heavily loaded with equipment and three men ... it's amazing how well it has held up. But the frame is often twisted. But its easy to get them back in position/right again.

I had my r12 frame straightened this year. The guy that did it had a lifetime of experience on bike frames was amazed at how strong the steel was and how robust the frame as a whole was.

Love it! Would you trade for a pair of Harleys?
