I have talked with Mr. Yotov on this situation and hopefully we can save these tanks from being scrapped, that is what there government was going to do with them. If everything goes to plan hopefully we can get some more Stug's up and running in the country. I will post updates as things develop.

Hope these can be saved.!!! It would be a shame to send them to the scrapyard. And,your efforts to save them show your deep committment to preserving history.

The thing is that most (if not all) of these pillbox tanks are torch cut behind the fighting compartment, so in a StuG you're looking at 2/3s of a hull, and they have no automotive components left.

What I wonder is if the 15 Panthers that were dug down will turn up, at least one of them was a Ausf.D and there were also some Ausf.G's with the deflecting lip on the mantlet ... now that would be something.
