WW2 German Panzer optics sight

may be selling these & would like to know if anyone knows exactly what they are & what they are used for. Blc maker code which I think is Zeiss, marked Rm-F 12 x 60, fur Em4m R40. Have a crosshair type optic picture, & spring loaded eyecups for quick sight picture. Been told they are tank sights, I'm not sure.

Hi.
This is an eye-set that was part of the Entfernungsmesser 4cm R40 rangefinder system, often seen on coastal batteries, or anti-aircraft installations. It was plugged into a large/long tubular piece of equipment, some models of EM had 3 or 4 of these eyeset fittings for several people to view at once.

A good quality item , yours is missing the shades section which occasionally is missing.
Unfortunately the chances of obtaining a spare one - very slim.
