DKW 500 Sidecar

Hi

I need some help! I purchased a DKW500 and sidecar and have been told now by a collector that the sidecar is not an original WW2 German but a Russian 1960's sidecar.

Does anyone know about these things?

the sidecar is definately post war Russian.

False. This is definately a post war Soviet, now Ukrainian sidecar from the Dnjepr factory.

Just two major differences:

- different wheel hub/drum brake:
-- casted aluminium alloy = Dnjepr
-- pressed steel wheel hub = Ural

- sidecar luggage compartment lid:
-- on the topside (under the spare wheel) = Ural
-- behind the backrest of the side car seat = Dnjepr
