    Post war pics

Was going through some of my old catologs and found these pics in an old Hy Hunter Arms catalog published in the mid-50's. He was based in Burbank Ca and was apparently quite the arms dealer.
Sorry about the quality of the scans but the paper was very thin quite yellowed.
    Anyone want to order one?

            For Sale

Excuse me, I guess that this thread is a joke, are you really saying that these are photos of items that were for sale in the 50's ?

Am I mising something here, the photos themselves are for sure not the items for sale, the Panthers on the rail cars are all from the very first production batch in 1943 and are fully operational, the damaged vehicles photo is a very well known photo from Normandy 44.

Or are they meant to be typical illustrations ??

            Yours, mystified, Lennard

Hi Lennard, please open the wikipedia-link.

I didn't know if the "Panther dealer" is a joke, but a bunch of Panthers were available in the fifties.

                How much did they cost?

                  Joke?

Lennard, I did not post this as a joke but only as as service to the members. As to whether or not the HY Hunter Corp. that published the catalog really did sell the tanks or not, I cannot verify. I imagine that there were many such dealers in the 50's that dealt in military surplus. Sorry if my pictures caused any confusion....

The first photo is a well-known and often-published picture of a Allied collection point in France circa 1944/1945.

Re. the second pic, I highly doubt that a "arms dealer" operating in the 1950's would go through the trouble to camouflage the main gun barrels of his overstock of Panther ausf.D inventory as he loaded them onto a German flatbed rail car, full OVE, spare track links and all!!!

EDIT: just wanted to add that I think the captions in the photos that started this thread are a joke!

                      Joke?

Rob, if Mr.Hunter originally meant the captions as a joke, I certainly cannot not tell you and I am quite sure the company is long defunt and Mr.Hunter is also. I am sorry if I offended anyone,I just thought the photos were neat and members might enjoy them.
