      I was also able to take an inside tour of these tanks and I echo the feelings of how awe inspiring this is!!! The King Tiger was captured in the Ardennes and if memory serves me correctly, was part of Kampfguppe Peiper. I once saw that same Panther in the 4th of July Armor diplay of running tanks back in 1978. They would take it out to mock battles for the public. I have a 8mm film of it coming down the road somewhere....

        I was told by a museum worker that there are long-range plans to fully restore the Tiger.
        There is a lot of money involved and It will be a while.
        I kind of like it the way it is. They will never really drive it and and I like seeing the inside of it.
