      canadian stuff

What happened to the Panther,Hetzer and Whirlwind that used to be at Camp Borden in the 80's??? Is the Stug the one that used to be out west ?

The Panther is in the shop being restored..( a drag.. because i wanted to see it..) the Stug III is the one from out west, it is pretty much beyond salvaging, as it has been shot up too much..the flak panzer is still in Borden, as far as i can tell..still outside, still rotting..

            Great thread thank you

Hi Erwin, the letter "G" on the Pz II stands for "Guderian". This marking was applied during the invasion of Russia in 1941.

            Cheers, Ade.

              Hi Kurskss-

              Great pictures! Thanks for sharing.

              That's actually a Jagdpanzer IV(L/70)V not a Jagdpanther.

Interesting... This is the first time I've seen a shot of this vehicle with it's roof! In very shot I ever seen it was missing, and I have always wondered if they even had it. Glad to know they do

In the picture 10, the rusted light tank beside the Mk II is an interesting vehicle. It is a Canadian-built Valentine tank that was sent to the USSR as lend-lease. During combat operations, it sank in a bog and was abandoned. Many decades later when it was recovered and given back to Canada.

As you come to the next level, you go down a set of stairs into a cathedral like structure, that plays a modulated sound, meant to recreate the sound of wind through metal structures..very erie..

The statutes are the actual plaster models for figures on the Vimy ridge memorial in France...
