    Panzer Headphones - Real?

    Hi all,
I'm just in the beginning state of my collection. Am considering buying these. Would appreciate feedback on their originality and a fair price for them.

    Thanks
    John

      Panzer Headphones - Real?

Also forgot to ask, if they are real, is there any way to determine what type of vehicle they were used on?

      Thanks
      John

          Panzer Kopfhorer

Hi John, Kopfhorer (Radio Headphones), with the introduction into service of the Pz Kpfw III and IV, together with their sucessors, bought with it the introduction of intra and intervehicle communications which was made possible by the excellent FuG 5 radio. This radio was installed on board all tanks and many other catagories of tracked and wheeled fighting vehicles. The basic headset was modified for Panzer troops use by the addition of rubber ear cups, which filtered out extraneous noise, and by a pad which covered the meteal connecting section over the wearers head. Your photos depict a nice honest example, as for the price, in England they usually sell for £190 to £225 in that condition (that is without the throatmic's!) I hope to of been of some help.
          Regards Richard.
Always looking for Luftwaffe Kampfflieger related document groups. In particular anything to Kampfgeschwader 2.

              Hi John,

I don't think there's any way to tell what vehicle these were used in- they were the general type that was used in most German armored vehicles.
