Video clips of a German marked T34 recovered from a swamp

In a previous thread about the possibility of derelict German tanks still sitting undesturbed in the wildlands of Russia:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=168708

One on the links showed pictures of the recent recovery of a T34 which had been captured and used by the Germans during the war and which had subsequently sank in a swamp, where it was preserved in pristine condition.

For those of you who found the pictures of interest, you can see the short video clips of the recovery on YouTube. Not the best quality, but worth seeing just the same:

Thanks for the links on this tank. The tracks are still free. Looks like all you have to do with this T34 is a quick oil change and a battery boost and your on your way. Very well preserved!!

Yes indeed. Now we need to see some German tanks pulled from these swamps to see if they could have survived as nicely as their former opponents.

Thanks ade , really enjoyed seeing that - nice to see that she is in good hands and is in running order .
One wonders what else might be out there waiting to be found.

there will be dozens more out there undiscovered. No doubt about that.
The wilderness of Russia is vast. There probably are still armoured vehicles simply covered up with undergrowth and foliage sitting untouched in remote Russian forests.

                    milcollector,

                    1. All tanks situated in available places were cutted and melted in post-WWII time.
Remainders was cutted (or sold) in 199x .
Swamps and rivers is a main (maybe single) source of tanks last several years.

                    2. Tigers fought in Russia too little period of time.
Much easier to find Tiger is to search them in Ukrain, Belarus, Poland and Pribaltika.
