Holly Sh**t!@!!
In the Military museum here most of the firearms have drilled or soldered barrels. And I am talking about not only WW2, but also WW1 and other rare and obsolete pistols and guns, for many of which is impossible to find ammo. The currator said, it was done during the commie times, after the uprisings in Hungary and Czechoslovakia, fear that some anti-communist rebels may break in the unguarded museum and get armed.
...seeing the events today, at last I find one single thing made by the commies, which may have sense, after all

tank
Hi All!
The T34 was on display and it is the property of the Museum of Military History. For security reasons the battery and its cabling were removed and only a little amount of fuel was left in it (it had to be enough for the vehicle to go back to the trailer by its own after the ceremonies). Some experts cracked the locks, connected in series 2 ordinary car batteries and professionally repaired the cabling, started the engine, but after 100m (as it approached the police vehicles seen on your pics) it ran out of fuel. The police then emptied it with the help of some pepper spray
Best regards

T34 in Andy Vajna's movie
This exact tank is featured in the newest Andy Vajna movie "Szabads******225;g, szerelem" (Liberty, love). Just an interesting fact
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486219/
Update: police caught the drivers, no more info available on them yet.
Some background info:
From the beginning of oct. on about 200 people demonstrated against the soc-lib administration on the square in front of the Parliament. They set up tents and stages, prepared for a long-term stay. On the 50th anniversary of the revolution of '56 56 kings, prime ministers etc. were invited to the official celebrations. Police officials made an agreement with the demonstrators, that they remove the tents (for security reasons) and let the EODs examine the "camp" and then they can stay. Sorry to say the demonstrators did not kept their promise, so the police "removed" them. So the riots begun...Last edited by Tamás Sebestyén; 10-24-2006, 06:57 AM.
