I know this is a long shot especially knowing there were a fair number of panzer-manner but I think I will try. I purchased 3 negatives showing these two fellows and I am curious if they are/were known. The older fellow is wearing the ost-medialle ribbon so it is fair to assume these were taken post winter of 42. Thanks in advance! Mike

Its along shot but the building in the background looks a lot like the BurgBerg in Budapest, if that is so !!!!!!! then these guys are on a terrace in Buda look across the River Danube to Pest.
And of course, further long shots, is it then anything to do with Operation Margarithe in April 44, the German occupation of Hungary, or Operation Panzerfaust in October 44, which was to prevent Hungary from joining the Russians.
Excuse my German spelling !!! Lennard

Thanks Lennard! Here is the scan showing the complete background. I am sorry for the quality but my scanner is acting up so I have to scan the negative and then invert it so I lose quite a bit of quality that way.
It would be interesting to know for sure if these were taken in Hungary.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the photo revision, now probably not Budapest, but for sure a big city judging by the buildings, and am absolutely positive that there is a river down below beyween the terrace in the foreground and the large background building.
So need to look for photos of European capitals and major cities, it would me almost certain that such a building is still standing. My estimate on time would be late 43 onwards. good luck
Lennard
