        Photo 25.

This is possibly the same vehicle seen in the previous shot. The crews are more than likely going through training on these vehicles.

Next installment. Training on 38(t) tanks, Panzer-Abt. 219, KO'd Russian tanks and winter uniforms.

        All for today

          Question By James P.

          James,

I’ll try and briefly answer your question.

The AP ammunition fired by the 3.7 cm Pak 35/36 weighed 0.68 kg or 1 pound 8 ounces. Muzzle velocity was 762 m/s or 2499 ft/sec. Armor penetration was 38 mm (sloped 30 degrees) at 400 yards. I would guess that this weapon could deal with the lighter French tanks but had serious problems dealing with the larger French tanks such as the Char Bis.

Later, an AP40 round was produced for this weapon which increased armor penetration to 49 mm (sloped 30 degrees) at 400 yards.

The site below provides information on French tanks of the period.
