Rangefinger optic? Need info

It is not panzer related and is not a range finder. This is German Artillery forward observer scope. They are sometimes referred to as battery Commander scopes because the senior artillery calling for fire as an observer was often the battery commander himself.

This is an SF14 that could be used & was used in panzer/spg etc. This one does not have the head pad that would have been used in vehicles.
It also could be used to calculate ranges but was technically not a range finder.
These had a wide range of uses & were issued prolifically.

Yep, as said, a version was used on some SPA and in some tanks. I believe Tiger carried a set for the commander. I have one with the head pad and without the bubble level, so I think it's a vehicle version.

This part doesn't belong to that optic. Anyhow, looks like if the binoculars had been repainted. Not natural looking Dunkelgelb. It is a bit too yellowish and the screws have no paint...

next step is french army using it again after ww2
