Mike well spotted, they are indeed two shell cases hanging on the Schürzen hooks. Above that area a second spare wheel has been thrown onboard, plus there seems to be a jerrycan or two stowed beyond towards the rear, besides the more obvious one seen stowed on the left front.

Of note is the style and placement of Balkenkreuz, which is the Austrian Nibelungenwerk factory's signature. It therefore follows there would have been a Balkenkruez factory-applied on the rear turret Schürzen (unlike Vomag who applied their crosses on the superstructure). In some cases this unit's Nibelungenwerk tanks therefore had the rear tactical number offset to the left of the cross, while others show either the cross painted out and the number applied centrally, or no rear number was applied.

    Make a great modelling subject.

Turns out the original image posted is an ebay auction scan which has been Photoshopped to remove the "Kurmark Antik" branding. Its quite well done, however for the record its worth pointing out one unusual bit of detail beside the driver's visor was partially obliterated in the process - "824" has not one but two oak leaf insignia, making it all the more interesting - see below.

Also for the record, there were at least two other shots of "824" sold by that seller, one taken earlier when its Schürzen was not damaged:
