    Aberdeen paint jobs

    Hey Dennis,

Do you think Mr. Atwater is interested in giving any of these machines a more historically accurate paint scheme? (if the army would allow).

It would be fun to paint a Panther or King Tiger with the guidance of some expert modellers.

For others who haven't been there, here's a good site to see some of Aberdeen's collection: http://www.dcell.com/trip2k/tanks/tanks.htm

I'll be visiting soon, and I'll bring plenty of pierogies for the drive.

If you are bringing some real pierogies I could care less about the tanks! I can kick in some kielbasa and halupka (sorry for the phonetic spelling) made up from the recipie of my dear (rest her soul) Baba! All kidding aside, as usual, money is the issue regarding the paint jobs. Folks with more than my limited knowledge about APG might be able to help you more, or allow you to help them more, at AFV News.

        the real thing

Yep, I'll pick up the real pierogies at the fund raiser down at the church in Lyndora, or at the Bloomfield Bridge Tavern in Pittsburgh (hand made, deep fried).

Speaking of the 'real thing', I'd gladly volunteer to paint some of those tanks properly. I'd even help pay for the paint. Is anybody else anxious to get their hands on the 'real thing'?

I've noticed that most of the foriegn tanks are gray and the American tanks are a gruesome brown. I think we can do better - no charge to the army!

It is a shame that they have painted most of the German stuff white and let them sit and deteriorate in the weather.
