I haven't been there for years, but it is a great place to visit. They used to put a superb display on Armed Forces Day, but I suppose with budget cuts they are a thing of the past.OMSA #6582

I have a 3 video set where the guy goes from tank to tank in the fiel they talk about them. Mixed in with period pictures and some footage from some British place with tanks. Pretty cool set. The ghostly grey of the tanks is kind of chilling.
Its called "Actung Panzer! German tanks at war" six episodes from some series that I presume was broadcast.

The set was produced by Cromwell from UK along with other documentaries on German Armed Forces in WWII. Worth watching or buying !Comment

I have read that APG Ordnance Museum will reopen to the public on weekends starting November 16. A photo ID will be required for entry to the base grounds.Comment

Last time I was there was 1986. Back then, you could hop up onto them without anyone making too much fuss. But I'm sorry to see the deterioration on some of them now.
Do they still have the big railway gun and the A-4 (V2)? I seem to remember a scale model collection that was pretty impressive. Still there? How about the shot-up Marder?
It's closed certain times of the year, I believe.

The closure being due to 9-11 is correct. I'd like to also put in a plug for the director, Dr. William Atwater. I have taken groups of my students there on field trips and he has always been most gracious with his time and assistance to my kids.Comment

The A-4 is still there, as is Anzio Annie (at least they were in 1997). I was hoping that the projected large storage/display building they were considering in '97 had been built, but it appears not. Unfortunately, a lot of these tanks are in bad shape, and it will cost a LOAD of money to restore them, if the Tiger experience at Bovington is any indication, even without restoring them tho running condition.
