Very interesting information. For me finally this says that you need an AT Rifle to destroy the drivers optics and not a standard rifle.

I have also read a couple of Tank Crew / Commanders memoirs and there always seems to be the odd bits of contradiction - or things that just don't add up quiet right. On the whole - interesting reads nonetheless.

I think all sides tried and succeeded in slowing or stopping Tanks by disabling the vision ports first:
and you don't need an Anti-tank gun or rifle to do that !

It makes sense to attempt and go for the Drivers and Commanders ones if possible - and there is plenty of documented evidence that suggests just that



But here's the thing - When in Battle Conditions the Panther and Tiger Drivers Vision ports were normally closed !

The Panther driver then used the Periscope ones - so no shooting him in the Eye there :



Not sure if that was the case on the Panzer III / IV etc ?
Maybe someone else can add / confirm this

Anyway - I have Immobilised and Destroyed tanks with my 'Nerf Gun' Fact

Far more effective than the Russian PTRD-41 (top) and the PTRS-41
