        I have read other articals on this endeavor.
        One said that the thing was shot to bits by the time they were finished.
        I have seen range tanks which resemble that.
        A lot of effort was involved transporting it which this artical shows.

            The 1946 pictures with Tiger II pushed away from the road is the Vimoutiers Tiger II that was on tow by a Bergepanther.
            On the second picture, you can see the twin steeples church from Vimoutiers, as well as you will recognize the house on the left side off the road.

            No merit, I now live 10km from that spot. But unfortunately I haven't yet found a part or tool of this Tiger II.

              Amazing detective work !
              I can't see tank turret metal "losing hardness".
              Could it be, that much like other equipment, the Germans were under such pressure to make tanks, that they produced turrets from soft steel ?
              Could the factory have been defrauding the Army ?
