Hi people,
I'm new in this site, and I have to say that it's a VERY interesting one. May be one of you could help me; I'm wondering if my Black Wound Badge is a fake or not. Well, it was bought in Russia as a real one...
Ok, according to the dealer who sold this badge, the original stick was replaced by this one appearing in the photo*.
But what about the metal appearing under the "brass" coat (look to the edges)? Is it normal?
And the manufacturer mark, L/11? I found out afterwards, that this mark is difficult to find.
Besides all the other black badges that I'd seen, keep its black paint at 99% levels even after 50-60 years...and this one seems to have lost their 50% of paint.
I checked all the measurements (helmet, cross, swords, etc.) and they are OK. That's all for now.
Greetings to everybody!
* I've two photos but I don't know how to attach it. I'll send them as soon as I can.
