Woundbadge in Gold , Opinions please

It has a crack as well, seems like a manufacturers fault.

I am VERY interested in the line on the front. Sticks out terribly. No idea what would cause that.

I vaguely remember this badge being shown here before some years ago with that distinct horizontal line and if my memory serves me well it was deemed a fake. Can't find the thread anymore unfortunately.
All in all, not a badge I would want in my collection.

Gold Wound Badge

For what it’s worth, I think the crack is a manufacture fault. I don’t know what the original process would have been during the period, but I would have thought such a defect would not have reached the gold finishing stage, and this one has obviously been finished. Also the hinge appears to be poorly fixed to the rear.
Not one that I would want, to be sure.
