Gifted this cut out WB, but it doesn't look legit

Hello everybody, I am brand new to the forum (actually came here researching DE Standards, but that's for another topic.) I was gifted a lot of 7 military badges that I know nothing about. Not sure where to post the others - I will figure it out in time - but one is a cut out WB that I am afraid has been faked.

If I'm correct I will not be surprised, but I'd like input as I am not 100% sure.

    Gifted Wound Badge

Hello Bigshell, I think you’re right to be suspicious. It looks as if it was made originally with a gold finish, if I am seeing correctly. The details in particular the sword handles look very ragged, lacking in detail and poorly executed. The overall texture looks like it has been cast and the pin and hinge setup is definitely not typical of the era it purports to be. I don’t even know if there are any postwar pin manufacturers who used this sort of pin on wound badges, although there were many.
I think other collectors here who comment may echo the same thought as mine.
    Regards
    Norman

Yes, you hit on many of my concerns. The first thing I noticed was the scratch on the back that can be seen on the right side of the pin. It is a sliver streak that looks like an artificial aging technique has been applied to some cheap cast pot metal.
