All are good badges but the gold is a refinished original SWB painted gold

thanks hans! what's the 'tell' that the gold one is refining refinished please? also, that gold looks like its on buntmedall / zinc, but the silver looks like quality medal - maybe silver-plated like I thik some were?

on second thought the silver reverse also looks like bunt-metall; it's only the remains of the silver plate that's lighter, correct?

I agree with Hans . The black one looks like L22 disign.

                          Regards,

First of all they are zincers. In the collecting world buntmetal are brass metal badges (a copper alloy based metal).

As for the gold finish it is the wrong type and way too grainy in appearance and darker. And IMO orignal zinc GWB´s by this maker comes with a gold pin not a silver painted to gold

thanks for smartening me up hans, I should have remembered this.

now how do I safely remove the bad finish (which who knows ? might even be gold radiator paint?!) maybe acetone or similar? or some liquid I can dip it into?

finally, is the black one's maker 11 unusual / scarce? much obliged to you and other wonks.
