Everything in TR collecting is a minefield. Just ask any of the helmet collectors, especially the guys that specialize in SS helmets. Badges have always been the worst, though.
If that first WB #30 is bad, than that 8 year old kid got burned for $10.

Question: So the publications, books, etc.. show the back of the silver hallmarked "30" late war zinc badge from the Wien Hauptmuenzen (Wien mint)? Like specifications, tech data, etc.? Pls provide the data and post it.

I understand the base material (i.e. brass, silver plate, zinc, tin, etc..) due to war shortages.

I personally don't accept the "Late-war" 30 HM....and that is my opinion. I especially don't accept this example which was posted with the "extra" material on the back edge.

These HM "30" badges came out of Europe in the early 1980s and the collector community "drank the Koolaide" and accepted these as good.

Again...the field is a "Mine Field"...watch where you step and spend your hard earned cash wisely. Famous saying..."A fool and his money are soon parted."

What makes the Late war "65" or the late war "26" different from the late war "30"? Just because a friend of yours told you they were bad? I respect your opinion but that means nothing. You are saying things that aren't grounded at all.

Hi i personally believe that all the silver wound badge makers would out of necessity have made the badge in zinc ,so if the makers of the 26,65 107 etc made them why would one of the main wound badge manufacturers the Vienna mint be left behind and lose money Kevin.
