Another photo wearing two wound badges

    Hello,
I didn't want to highjack Gran Sasso's other thread showing a soldier wearing two wound badges - http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...83#post8111483 - so decided I'd better post a new thread. I've had this photo for a long time but the other thread finally spurred me to post it. Sorry I don't have a scanner to get better details, but even looking with a glass or loop doesn't make it any sharper than my photos so I think it doesn't matter. As best I can tell under magnification, the BWB is a 1st pattern while the silver is a normal 39er. I can't read all of the writing, but I know it says he gave it to his grandmother.

Maybe he was just ahead of his time and identified himself as a "she!"

Can you tell me what the rest of the message says? Obviously my "flohmarkt" Deutsch is pretty bad, but throw in the script and I'm totally hopeless.

Thank you! No hope then of identifying the husband then.

Thank you! I bought it way back in my early days of collecting at flohmarkts and it took years before I even noticed he had two wound badges.

Definitely against regulations but guess he couldn't resist adding the bling for his wedding. I believe both are WW2 as he has no medals indicating WW1 service and he doesn't look old enough for WW1.

Who knows, there's no way to tell why he's wearing both.

For me a typical studio foto where soldiers often loved to show all awards. Quite nice [emoji106]
