    Hollow Silver Wound Badge

To start with, I have to say that I was of the mindset that the hollow back silvers (and gold) WBs did not exist. Until I saw this one we just got in. It has much more of that plated looks than the sprayed silver ones I have seen here. What do we think? any idea of the maker? value? Thanks!

      Hi mate!
It's a original badge,Wiedmann/Deschler design.I'm not sure about the silver finish-hard to judge from this pics.
      Best Regards

Badge is a nice original but it's hard to believe this silver paint is original. Especially on the reverse bottom it looks too "fresh". I bet it's another black one with a new color.

Imo the silvering has a good chance but better pictures would be helpfull.
            Best regards, Andreas

Do the known test(s) for the finish to make a clue...

Look for microscopic sized black dots around the hardware and the cavitys on the badge with a loup

I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

Thanks guys, I have to admit, I am not a wound badge aficionado, so I was not familiar with the "tests" mentioned. But as soon as I can get the badge, the sun, and my loupe & lenses in the same place I will take some better pics. I appreciate the responses and the help!
