L/58 marked silver woundbadge for review

    Hello,

I recieved this denazified woundbadge from a larger lot. It has a clear L58 marking on the back. I am very interested to learn more about this badge, because I can't remember if Souval made wartime woundbadges, I dont recall seeing many of there postwar woundbadges. The badge has roughly the same weight as a Tombak woundbadge so I dont think it is made of zink.

I am very interested in your opinion on this badge !

    Thanks,

    Chris

          Hi Chris,

A nice Souval post war made WB. Not the earliest post war made piece, as they were made of zinc. Never the less a nice one. I assume it still has a closed hinge ?
They can also be found with regular Souval clasp. The one used here is a piece that St&L also used in their 1957er production.

          Best regards,
          Alex

so it's made before 1968. I have a few such WB - as part of vet groupings myself.

Do you think Souval made woundbadges before 1945 ?

                  Hi

                  IMO it's a L/53

                  Cheers,

Ronny I was thinking of this to ! It would very well be ! Do you have a Hymmen woundbadge in silver to compare to ?

                    Thanks,

                    Chris

                        Hello,
you are right, it is a early, Tombak, stamped L/53 Hymmen & Co WB. The Pics of the obvers are not very sharp so it is difficult to see the Details, but the revers pics are good enough!

I agree with Ronny, Hymmen marked WB.
